Spooner-We may not live in the fast lane, but we do know how to celebrate! We toast everything from holidays to harvests to history — with the special touches only a close-knit, rural community like ours can bring. And although Spooner is “country” to the core, we host some world-class events, such as the Spooner Car Show in June and the Heart of the North Rodeo in July. Down-home favorites include the Washburn County Junior Fair, Jack Pine Savage Days in August, Jack O’ Lantern Festival in October, Jack Frost Festival in January, and many more. That’s just a sampling of the many events the Spooner area offers through the year.
Spooner’s downtown area includes many different gift shops, restaurants, taverns, museums, a scenic train excursion, art galleries and so much more! During the summer, join us for the Farmer’s Market every Saturday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Front Street.
This four-season area offers many lakes for swimming, fishing and boating. Here you will find fun for the entire family. Scenic hiking, biking, ATV and snowmobile trails are county wide, and right here in the heart of town you will find the crossroads of several of them, including the Wild Rivers Trail which stretches through Barron County, Washburn County and Douglas County.
You can begin here in Spooner, and go Northwoods in Every Direction! Come and visit us and see, it's all here, in Northwest Wisconsin! For more information, please log on to www.spoonerchamber.org or www.washburncounty.org.
